Hanbury Street

Hanbury Street is a street in London's Spitalfields, which extends east of Commercial Street. Originally called the Dating back to the 17th century street Browne 's Lane.

The street gained notoriety as at 6 clock in the morning the body of Annie Chapman in the backyard of the house number 29 was found on September 8, 1888. It is considered a second victim of the alleged murders by Jack the Ripper. Today Hanbury Street is mainly residential and business street. The number 29 has not been preserved, in its place is now a car park.
