Handel Medallion

The trade Medallion ( Handel Medal) is a Lent of the City of New York Price to honor individuals who have contributed in the highest degree to the intellectual and cultural life of the city.

The Erstverleihung took place in 1959, on the 200th anniversary of the death of the composer Georg Friedrich Händel, after whom the prize is named.
