Handelsblatt

The Handelsblatt is a German daily newspaper. The economic and financial newspaper in German language is published by the Düsseldorf Handelsblatt publishing group, which in turn belongs to Dieter von Holtzbrinck Media GmbH. Chief Editor is Hans- Jürgen Jakobs. The Handelsblatt is official journal of the stock exchanges in Frankfurt and Dusseldorf.

History

The first edition appeared on 16 May 1946 the publisher Friedrich Vogel. On September 1, 1970, the Handelsblatt took over the competitors courier industry. The management of the Handelsblatt GmbH belonged to Dieter von Holtzbrinck, Pierre Gerckens, Alexander and William Schettler Zundler.

Longtime editor of Handelsblatt was the tax and labor lawyer Hans Mundorf. This was followed by Thomas Knipp (2002-2004) and Bernd Ziesemer (2002-2010). Bernd Ziesemer left the newspaper in the second half of 2010; new editor in chief was April 1, 2010 Gabor Steingart, previously editor of the news magazine Der Spiegel - most recently as a correspondent in Washington. Steingart was established in October 2012 in the three-member Board of Handelsblatt publishing group called ( beginning 1 January 2013). The Handelsblatt is the most cited business medium in Germany ( Media Tenor, 2004-2011 ).
