Hands of the Cause

The Hands of the Cause, or Hands of the Cause of God were Bahai, which were each appointed by Baha'u'llah, Abdu'l-Baha and of Shoghi Effendi for life, and whose main mission was to spread the Bahai faith and protect. Overall, there were fifty Hands of the Cause, four of whom were appointed by Bahá'u'lláh, four of Abdu'l-Baha and Shoghi Effendi of 42. As Shoghi Effendi died, yet lived 27 of the Hands of the Cause. Today the title is no longer assigned and with Muhammad Ali Varqa died the last Hand of the Cause. Currently, the House of Justice took over the management of the global Baha'i community.
