BW

The hemp Bach is a left tributary of the victory. It rises in Rhineland- Palatinate on Druden -Born north of the town of Buchholz Mendt to about 255 m above sea level. NN and empties into Hennef at an altitude of 64 m above sea level. Its length is 19 km, of which 13.6 km flow in North Rhine -Westphalia.

Although the creek 's name has previously powered the so-called hemp mill nothing to do with hemp or hemp cultivation in this area. Researchers assume that the name over hanapha ( hanafa ) from the Germanic hanan ( sing, sound ) and apa ( river water) has derived, who therefore might have meant so much as sounding flow. In fact, the hemp Bach transformed when it rains into a raging waters and the height difference from the source to the mouth is about 190 m to 13 km also quite remarkable.

In addition, the name of the city Hennef derives from that stream. Previously it was known as Hannafo.
