Hanger Lane tube station

Hanger Lane is an aboveground station London Underground in the London Borough of Ealing. It is located in the Travelcard Zone 3, in the middle of a large roundabout, where the multi-lane highway A40 and the northern ring road A406 intersect. In the year 2011 there were 3.36 million passengers served by the Central Line station. A few hundred meters away is the Station Park Royal on the Piccadilly Line.

The Great Western Railway ( GWR ) and the Great Central Railway opened in 1903, jointly established New North Main Line ( NNML ). The breakpoint Twyford Abbey (a few meters east of the site of the present station ) was opened on 1 May 1904 and closed on 1 May 1911. Opened on the same day replacement breakpoint Brentham ( just west of present-day location located ) was from 1915 to 1920 for reasons of economy out of service.

As part of the 1935 New Works program adopted by the London Passenger Transport Board was an additional double track along the NNML moved to the end of the Second World War to allow the underground operation between North Acton and West Ruislip. The underground operation of the Central Line was taken on June 30, 1947, the GWR completed the breakpoint Brentham.
