Hank Moonjean

Hank Moon Jean ( born January 19, 1930 in Evanston, Illinois; † 7 October 2012 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American film producer.

Life

Prior to his career in film Moon Jean graduated from the University of Southern California. He then worked as an interpreter for MGM in 1954. From the mid- 1950s, he worked as an assistant director. His first film in this regard was Blackboard Jungle, where he was not listed by name for this. He was a total involved as an assistant director on some 30 film productions, most recently in 1972.

Starting with Dominique - The Singing Nun from 1966 Moon Jean was active until the 1970s as a co-producer ( associate producer ). Then the end of the decade he rose to become an independent film producer and mainly financed movies with Burt Reynolds in the lead role. In the late 1980s his work ends up as producer.

At the Academy Awards in 1989 he and his colleague Norma Heyman for the production of Dangerous Liaisons were nominated for Best Picture for the Oscars in the category.

In 1984 he received a nomination for the Razzie Worst Picture in the category for his involvement in The Raging Gockel.

2008 Moon Jean publish the book in The Peacocks: Memoirs Of A Hollywood Producer his memories.
