Hankel-Matrix

A Hankel matrix, named after Hermann Hankel (1839-1873), refers to a matrix in which each from top right to bottom left -running side diagonals only a constant value occurs. It is therefore completely described by the top row and the rightmost column of the matrix.

The dimension of the vector space of Hankelmatrizen is thus.

This simplification allows as well as in the related Toeplitz matrices the use of highly efficient procedure for matrix operations such as multiplication and inversion.
