Hannes Coetzee

Hannes Coetzee [ kut ͜ sɪə ] (* 1944) is a South African slide guitarist from the Karoo region in South Africa.

Life

Known beyond the region was Coetzee due to its special playing technique, the " OPTEL and Knyp " in which held the guitarist with a spoon, with the mouth, the melody " attacks " while the chord or bass part is gripped with the hand. This play was first presented internationally in David Kramer's documentary Karoo Kitaar Blues ( 2003), which was set in excerpts on You Tube. In 2007, he was on tour in the United States for the first time.
