Hannes Keller

Hannes Keller ( born September 20, 1934 in Winterthur ) is a Swiss computer pioneer, entrepreneur, diving pioneer and amateur pianist.

Life

After studying philosophy, mathematics and theoretical physics at the University of Zurich, he turned to the diving research. Supported by Albert Bühlmann he worked on dive tables for special breathing gas mixtures, which consisted of 95 % nitrogen and 5 % oxygen. In 1961 he succeeded thanks to its developed dive tables, with his partner McLeish to dive in Lake Maggiore to a depth of 230 m. The following year he reached in a spectacular and tragic at the same time dive with a diving bell off California (Santa Catalina Iceland ) over 300 m depth. Two other divers, Peter Small and Chris Whittaker, died. The resulting height was surpassed only in 1975.

As a successful entrepreneur Hannes Keller was in the 1970s and 1980s, a leading dealer for IBM PCs in Switzerland. He developed Witchpen, Ways for Windows and Wizard Maker, early and successful applications in the field of automatic spelling correction, machine translation, and the macro recording. Currently cellar on the board of the company Visipix operates.

Hannes Keller regarded as a good classical pianist, he released several recordings and gave concerts in front of over 2000 listeners. In addition, he was the organizer of the concert or experiment The Big Tartarov, with pianist Jean -Jacques Hauser improvised as a fictional Russian pianist, while the audience thought he knew it were original works by major composers. Keller has his residence in Lower Glatt.
