Hans Cattini

Hans Cattini ( born January 24, 1914 in Grono, † April 3, 1987 in Lausanne) was a Swiss ice hockey player. His brother Ferdinand Cattini was also Swiss national team.

Career

Hans Cattini took part for the Swiss national team at the 1936 Winter Olympics in Garmisch -Partenkirchen and 1948 in St. Moritz. With his team, he won the bronze medal at the Winter Games in 1948. At the World Championships in 1937 and 1939 he won the bronze at the World Cup 1935, the silver medal with his team. As the best team in Europe, Switzerland was at the 1935 World Cup also European champion.

At club level, Cattini played for HC Davos. There he formed with his brother Ferdinand Cattini and Richard Torriani the so-called " ni" storm, which was more than ten years of extremely successful. In 1998 he was honored with induction into the IIHF Hall of Fame. Since 2010, one of the two preliminary round groups of the Spengler Cup is named after him and his brother Ferdinand.
