Hans Fichtner

Hans Joachim Oskar Fichtner ( born September 8, 1917 in Leipzig, † 21 October 2012 in Huntsville ) is a native of Germany former rocket engineer. He also worked in the group of Wernher von Braun at Peenemünde and the United States whose nationality he possesses.

Hans Fichtner worked after training and military service at Peenemunde on the project of the A4 rocket (so-called "V 2"). After the war he went in November 1945 with numerous other scientists in the United States, where he worked on U.S. missile projects. From 1945 to 1949 he was at Fort Bliss, later in Redstone Arsenal and worked at the Marshall Space Flight Center of NASA.

He was chief engineer at the High Energy Astronomy Observatory and worked 1975/1976 as a consultant for ESA in the Netherlands.
