Hans-Lothar Domröse

Hans -Lothar Domröse ( born December 28, 1952 in Hannover ) is a General of the Army of the Bundeswehr. Since 14 December 2012, he is commander of Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum.

Military career

Training and first uses

Domröse was born in 1952 as the son of the later lieutenant general of the Bundeswehr Lothar Domröse. After finishing high school in Brunswick Domröse joined in 1973 as an officer cadet in the Infantry Battalion 23 in the service of the Bundeswehr. On April 1, 1975, he was promoted to lieutenant. After studying economics in Hamburg, where he graduated in 1977 as Diplom-Kaufmann, he was transferred to Lüneburg and served as a platoon commander and intelligence officer (S2 ) in the Infantry Battalion 82 In this use, he was promoted on 20 October 1977 to first lieutenant. In 1980 he took over, promoted on 1 October of the same year to the captain, a company commander the 2nd Company of the battalion and led it for four years.

Service as a staff officer

From 1984 to 1986 Domröse completed the General Staff Course at the Staff College in Hamburg. After the course he took in Oldenburg from 1986 to 1988 on the staff of the 11th Panzergrenadier Division the post of Intelligence Officer (G2) and was promoted during its 1 October 1987, to major. Domröse remained at the site and took over from 1988 to 1989 when also stationed there Panzergrenadier Brigade 31 the post of operation officer (G3).

Subsequently Domröse was transferred to Bonn, where he 2 ( foreign, security and development policy ) in the Federal Chancellery served from 1989 to 1991 as personal assistant ( group 23) of the department head. In this capacity, he was promoted to October 15, 1990 to lieutenant colonel.

In 1991 he moved back to a military command, took over until 1993 the mechanized infantry battalion 313 and led the merger with the Parachute Battalion 271 for Parachute Battalion 313 in Varel by. From 1993 to 1995 Domröse served in the Bonn Ministry of Defense as officers in the Planning Staff. On October 1, 1995 promoted to colonel, concluded between 1995 and 1998, a foreign assignment as Department Head at NATO SHAPE headquarters in Mons in Belgium.

Back in Germany took over Domröse 1998 to 2000 the post of Chief of Staff of the 13th Panzer Grenadier Division / Military District Command VII in Leipzig under the command of Major General Werner Aries. During this time he completed an overseas deployment in the context of the 3rd German KFOR contingent in Prizren in Kosovo, where he served as Chief of Staff of the Multinational Brigade South.

Service in the rank of general

From 2000 to 2004 Domröse was commander of Panzergrenadier Brigade 41 in Torgelow. He coordinated civil protection during Elbhochwassers 2002. During this time he was appointed on 1 April 2003 to Brigadier General and was also additionally from January to April 2003, the time of the Iraq war, head of the liaison office for U.S. Central Command in Tampa, Florida. Then Domröse was again transferred to the Ministry and served there from 2004 to 2006 as Deputy Chief of Staff Rear Admiral Wolfram Kühn, with whom he had completed the General Staff Officer Course, the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces in Bonn.

From 9 March 2006 to 10 January 2008 commanded Domröse, appointed on 1 April 2006 to major general, as a third party, the Special Operations Division in Regensburg. This command he gave to Hans -Werner Fritz and took over in January 2008 by Bruno Kasdorf the post of Chief of Staff of ISAF in Afghanistan under the command of U.S. General David D. McKiernan. This command he gave a rotational basis after one year, in January 2009, to the Italian Major General Marco Bertolini. Subsequently, he was transferred to the Army Forces Command in Koblenz, to be prepared by January to September 2009 on the assumption of command over the Euro Corps.

6 September 2009 Domröse was appointed lieutenant general and took over on 25 September 2009 the post as Commanding General of the Euro Corps in Strasbourg, on 1 July 2011, he was again the Army Forces Command enables to prepare for its next use. From 17 October 2011 until December 6, 2012 Domröse was German, succeeding Lieutenant General Roland Kather Military Representative (DMV) in the NATO Military Committee and the Military Committee of the European Union ( EUMC) in Brussels. In December 2012, he was promoted to General and took over the command of the Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum.

Awards

Domröses awards include the Cross of Honour of the Bundeswehr in Bronze (1988 ) and gold ( 1993), the use of bronze medal SFOR (1998), KFOR Bronze (2000 ) Flood Relief (2002) and the use of ISAF Medal in Silver ( 2009). In 2008 he was honored with the Medal of Merit of the French Army and the Medal of Merit of the Romanian General Staff.

Private

Domröse has been married since 1980 and has two grown sons.
