Hans Schaidinger

Hans Schaidinger ( born February 23, 1949 in Freilassing ) since 1996, Mayor (CSU ) of the city of Regensburg.

Vita

The studied economics graduate ( completion in 1977 ) is married and has two children. Schaidinger occurred in 1978 in the service of the city of Regensburg, where he was in the areas of Economic Development and Urban Development. From 1991 to 1996, he worked in the private sector as area director of the Industrial DIBAG AG in Munich. He was elected mayor of Regensburg in 1996, confirmed in the local elections in 2002 with 61.5 % in office. From 2005 to 2011 he was chairman of the Bavarian Association of Cities. Schaidinger from 2005 to 2012 Member of the Board of Bayerische Landesbank. In the Bavarian municipal election in 2008, he was only confirmed in the runoff election against his rival Joachim Wolbergs (SPD ) on 16 March with 52.15 % with a turnout of 41.87 % in office. The next local elections in Bavaria in 2014 Schaidinger can no longer compete on grounds of age.

He is representative of the Bavarian Association of Cities of the Broadcasting of the Bayerischer Rundfunk.

The runoff election for the office of mayor lost the CSU candidate Christian Schlegl on March 30, 2014 clearly with 29.8 % of the valid votes cast against the SPD candidate and former mayor Joachim Wolbergs 3, the 70.2 % of votes were cast, and is thus succeed Schaidinger.
