Hans Vestberg

Hans Erik Vestberg ( born June 23, 1965 in Hudiksvall, Hälsingland ) is a Swedish economist and businessman. From 2007 he was Chief Financial Officer at Ericsson, since 1 January 2010, he is there verkställande direktör (Chairman and CEO).

Training and professional development

Vestberg studied business administration at the University of Uppsala and graduated in 1991 with a Civilingeniörexamen from. Then he got a job at Ericsson subsidiaries Ericsson Cables in his hometown Hudiksvall. Subsequently, he held various management positions at Ericsson in Sweden, but also in China, Chile and Brazil.

2003 Vestberg Chief of the firm's Global Services and simultaneously Senior Vice President, then Executive Vice President in 2005. In October 2007 he was appointed Chief Financial Officer and First Executive Vice President.

On 25 September 2009 Ericsson announced that the hitherto reigning CEO Carl -Henric Svanberg leaves the Group at year-end and Hans Vestberg is to succeed him.

Family and Leisure

Hans Vestberg is married and has two children.

In his spare time he devoted to, among other things the sport of handball. In his youth he was a handball player in the first Swedish League active, such as in the clubs Stockholmspolisens IF and SoIK Hellas. Since 2007 he has been Chairman of the Swedish handball association.
