Hans Zdražila

Hans Zdražila ( born March 10, 1941 in Ostrava, Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia ) is a former Czechoslovak weight lifters.

Career

Hans Zdražila came with 16 years of weight-lifting. As a prospective athlete he wanted with the training with weights to improve his physical strength and finally stopped completely when lifting weights. The end of 1958 it reached 300 kg for the first time in the Olympic triathlon and in 1959 he became Czechoslovak youth champion in the class up to 75 kg body weight with 317.5 kg. After he had made ​​further progress, he, who had completed his apprenticeship as a mechanic in a steel plant, was drafted into the army for two years. In addition, he moved to Prague sports club Ruda Hvezda. After joining the national team coach Antonin Dresl cared primarily about him after he had no special coach before. Soon also international successes came for the schwarzharigen Hans and the culmination of his career of Olympic victory in 1964 in Tokyo was at middleweight, where he managed to beat the Soviet athlete Viktor Kurenzow what then amounted to a small sensation. After the 1968 Olympics he finished his career as a weightlifter.
