Haquin Spegel

Haquin ( Håkan ) Spegel (* June 14, 1645 in Ronneby, † April 17, 1714 in Uppsala ) was a Swedish Lutheran theologian, priest ( last Archbishop of Uppsala ) and poet.

Life

Spegel, son of businessman Daniel Spegel and its coming from Westphalia Ms Margareta Fischer, studied Protestant theology from 1662 in Lund, and later on a trip abroad in Germany ( among others, Heinrich Müller in Rostock and Abraham Calov in Wittenberg), Holland and England. After his return in 1666 he was a tutor in Malmö. 1671 he received his doctorate in Lund for phil Mag. and was ordained a priest. Subsequently, he worked as a court preacher at Straengnaes of Dowager Queen Hedwig Eleonora of Schleswig -Holstein - Gottorp.

Literary work
