The Harare International Airport ( IATA: HRE, ICAO: FVHA ) is the international airport of the capital of Zimbabwe, Harare. It is operated by the Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe ( CaAz ) and serves as the home base of Air Zimbabwe.

Equipment

Terminal building

The airport has two passenger terminal with 18 check- in desks and a cargo terminal. The terminals offer several service facilities, including a bank branch and cafes and over 300 parking spaces. In Harare, large passenger aircraft such as the Boeing 747 can be handled.

Airstrip

The only start and runway 05 /23, with a length of 4725 meters, one of the longest in Africa, reason is the so-called "hot and high" airport location ( situated high above the sea level, high temperatures), the longer takeoff distances for the aircraft due. The airport is approved for instrument flight, there are ILS approaches possible, at the bottom there is distance measuring equipment as well as a non-directional beacon.

Airlines and destinations

Be Flew from Harare with Stand November 2013 Amsterdam with KLM and the African capitals Johannesburg, Addis Ababa, Nairobi, Luanda, Gaborone and Lubumbashi. Since February 2012 also connects Harare with Emirates Dubai.
