Harbin Z-19

The WZ -19 ( also Harbin Z -19) is a manufactured by the Harbin Aircraft Manufacturing Corporation of armed reconnaissance helicopter of the Chinese Air Force.

History

The WZ -19 is a Chinese self-development and is based on the Harbin H425, which in turn represents a further development of the Harbin Z-9. The helicopter, from which so far only prototypes and / or pre-series exist, is currently (2013 ) still in the testing phase. The first flight took place in 2010. The first public presentation of the pattern took place in November 2012 at the Zhuhai Airshow.

The helicopter has a fenestron tail rotor to reduce noise; in addition, the engine exhausts are covered in order to impede an opponent's infrared reconnaissance. In addition, he has an armor and a small chin turret with camera, FLIR and laser rangefinder.
