Hard-paste porcelain

Hard-paste porcelain is a "hard" ( hot) fired porcelain.

The result is in contrast to the soft-paste porcelain by higher firing temperatures ( 1400 ° C to 1460 ° C) and is largely insensitive to temperature fluctuations. It consists of 47-66 % clay, up to 25% silica and up to 25 % feldspar. The relatively high kaolin content gives the finished product a relatively higher impact resistance.

Developed by Böttger of Meissen Porcelain is a hard porcelain, while the traditional Asian porcelain, but also other products such as Sèvres pâte nouvelle, Wedgwood Jasperware and Bone china soft porcelains.
