Hardenberg

The Hardenberg is a 374.2 m above sea level. NHN high mountain in the northern Black Forest on the boundary of the town of Baden -Baden. About trails he is well developed. The Hardenberg is completely wooded. Due to the winter storm Lothar of the forest was severely damaged in December 1999.

Environment

Northwest of the Hardenbergs the district bellows located with the city hospital. Little above the town clinic is an old quarry, now a protected natural monument. The 25 m high and 100 m wide wall made of red sandstone falls to the west to the Rhine valley. On the bottom of the quarry there is a hard court. On the south slope of Hardenberg the Lower Aussichtsweg runs in the West city, for Hardbergbad and the hostel. The Upper Scenic trail leads above the Hardenberg Bath to the New Palace. On the east side, between Hardenberg and Battert is Keller image, a popular destination for hikers.
