Harderbahn

The Harder Railway (HB ) is a funicular railway in the Bernese Oberland in Switzerland and runs from Interlaken to the Harder Kulm. The railway was opened in 1908.

The route begins in Interlaken, close to Interlaken Ost train station, 567 m above sea level. M.. Unusually for Harderbahn that the track straight, but out almost a semicircle on the mountain is not as common for funiculars. With a maximum gradient of 64 % it overcomes in a track area o 1447 meters altitude difference of 755 m to 1,322 m above sea level. M. altitude mountain station.

The journey takes 8 minutes, during which the railway crosses a tunnel.

The Harder train runs only in summer. While the valley station located in the town of Interlaken, the hill station is located on the territory of the city of Interlaken and is therefore only station of Interlaken.
