The Hard water is a left-side or western tributary of Wiera, who runs on the field of Schwalm-Eder -Kreis and the district of Marburg -Biedenkopf, both in Hesse ( Germany ).

The headwaters of the creek is located in the town of Gilston between the hamlets Itzenhain and winter Scheid, and the hard water flows first in a south-easterly direction to Bellnhausen to. The place it happened on its northern flank, where the hard water swings to the east and the advancing flowing from the south side of Bell Stockhausen Katzenbach receives. Between Itzenhain and Appenhain it swings to the south and crosses the county road 99 just before the main road bends 3242 to the southeast and then flows past Mengsberg. Shortly after the iron mill at Mengsberg swings the hard water in a southerly direction to Hinternberg to flow again just before the south-east direction. This direction it holds up to its confluence with the Wiera at Wiera.

Overall, the hardware sets this water approximately 5.26 km back, with a height difference of 110 meters.
