Harold Devine

Harold "Harry" George Devine ( born May 18, 1909 in New Haven, Connecticut, † 29 April 1998 in North Oxford, Massachusetts ) was an American boxer who participated in the Summer Olympics 1928 at featherweight win bronze.

Devine was National Champion of the AAU in 1928 and so also represented the United States at the Games in Amsterdam. There he met first on the Italian Fausto Montefiori, and then click the Finns Kaarlo Vakeva. In the semifinals he was defeated by eventual Olympic champion Bep van Klaveren. The bronze medal he secured but then in the small final against Lucian Biquet.

His professional career has been weakened by the fact that he was left-handed and other good boxers this parried well. However, he obtained in 1934 the title of best boxer in New England, he once successfully defended, but still lost him in the same year. When he went to Australia in 1935, then took him two defeats finally out of the ring.
