Harriet Walter

Dame Harriet Mary Walter, DBE (* September 24 1950 in London) is a British actress.

Biography

The niece of the British actor Christopher Lee was educated at the Cranbourne Chase School. After her acting classes at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art she gained experience at various theater venues such as the Duke's Playhouse in Lancaster. She worked throughout her career again and again together with the Royal Shakespeare Company. New Year's Eve 1999, she was by Queen Elizabeth II as a Commander of the British Empire, appointed Silvester 2010 Dame Commander of the British Empire. In the fall of 2007, she was scoring judge in a contest for free speech at Eton College. Her partner was, until his death in 2004, actor Peter Blythe. Since May 21, 2011 Harriet Walter is married to the American actor Guy Schuessler.
