Harry Essex
Harry J. Essex ( born November 29, 1910 in New York; † 6 February 1997 in Los Angeles ) was an American screenwriter and film director.
Life
Essex first worked as a journalist for the New York Daily Mirror Newspapers and Brooklyn Eagle and wrote next to short stories. His wish, however, it has always been to work as a screenwriter, but the outbreak of World War II made his hopes dashed at first.
After the war he came to mediation of a friend finally to the film company Columbia Pictures, which was at that time looking for screenwriters.

For the screenplay for Jack Arnold sci-fi film Came from Outer Space, he was awarded posthumously in 2004 with the Retro Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation Category ( Short Form ).
