Harry Wasylyk

Harry Wasylyk (* September 25, 1925 Winnipeg, Manitoba ) is considered together with Larry Hansen as the inventor of the garbage bag made of polyethylene.

Originally they did not think to use in households, but in commercial operations, the first customer was the Winnipeg General Hospital. Hansen's employer Union Carbide Company, however, bought them from the idea and brought in the late 1960s the first green garbage bags under the name Glad garbage bags on the market.
