Harry Wilson (actor)

Harry Wilson ( born November 22, 1897 in London, England; † September 6, 1978 in Woodland Hills, California ) was a British actor.

Life and career

British-born Harry Wilson began his film career in 1928 in the United States. He suffered from acromegaly and anyway had a brawny figure, which is why he looked rather ugly and threatening at the same time. Therefore, he played in his long film career mostly henchmen, criminals, workers or boxer. Until 1965, he played in 300 film and television productions, including many classics like Modern Times and The Wizard of Oz Most of his roles were small and remained without crediting him. Only occasionally he got larger roles, such as in the role of a dumb henchman in Some Like It Hot, and as a female monster in Frankenstein Frankenstein 's Daughter Trash strips. He also worked as a double for actors, including 15 years of Oscar winner Wallace Beery.

Harry Wilson was co-owner of a shop for religious books in his private life. He had children and grandchildren.
