Harvey Mandel

Harvey Mandel ( born March 11, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan ) is an American blues - rock guitarist and singer.

Almond played in the Chicago blues clubs and was a member of the bands of Charlie Musselwhite and Barry Goldberg, before he moved to the West Coast in 1967. In 1968 released his debut album Christo Redentor.

From 1969 to 1970, Mandel member of Canned Heat and played with them at the Woodstock Festival. He then went on tour with John Mayall. With him he played a the much acclaimed album USA Union and became a sought-after studio musician. He has played with Love and the Ventures. Mandel was one of the candidates for the succession of Mick Taylor as guitarist for the Rolling Stones on their album Black and Blue (1976 ), he starred as a studio musician with the pieces Hot Stuff and Memory Motel. 2010 and 2011 toured with the reunited band almond Canned Heat also in Germany. In January 2014 it was announced that Mandel in mid- 2013, cancer was diagnosed. He left therefore Canned Heat to undergo treatment. An initiative of Mandel's friends and family is now trying to raise money for therapy. It is aimed at an amount 50000-70000 U.S. dollars.
