Haskovo
Haskovo [ xaskovo ] ( Bulgarian Хасково, Turkish Hasköy ) is a city in Bulgaria with 78 929 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2004), located in a hilly valley. The city is regarded as a road transport hub and is the administrative seat of the homonymous Haskovo Oblast.
History
As a market town end of the 14th century emerged with an oriental character, it is today a modern city with developed industry (especially tobacco production) and cultural center of the area.

- The mosque from 1395 (the oldest in Bulgaria) as well as monuments, among other things Petko Wojwoda, a campaigner of Garibaldi.
Environment
- Near the town are the Chaskowoer mineral baths in which besides many other diseases, the Winiwarter - Buergersche disease is treated.
