Hassan ( Kannada: ಹಾಸನ, Hasana ) is a city in the southern Indian state of Karnataka with around 134,000 inhabitants ( 2011 census ). It is located about 200 kilometers west of Bangalore in southern Karnataka to over 900 meters in the Deccan Plateau. The city is the administrative center of the district of Hassan.

Located on National Highway 48 from Bangalore to Mangalore and the railway line from Mysore to Mangalore, Hassan has good transport links. The city itself has to have no significant sights, Hassan, however.
