Hatlerdorf

The Hatlerdorf is the 2nd district of the Austrian city of Dornbirn in the Vorarlberg State. It is the second largest district in terms of population Dornbirn with 10,249 inhabitants (as of 1 May 2004).

Geography

The Hatlerdorf extends from the limitations of Dornbirn Oh the northeast and the foot of the cart in the southeast against the Rhine valley, abuts Lustenau and on the south by Hohenems in the West.

History

Probably the Hatlerdorf is the oldest settled area of Dornbirn. It was only in 1902 - a year after the city of Dornbirn survey - were (now Market) officially declared Hatlerdorf, Oberndorf and hazel groves to the four districts of the young city Lower Village. For a long time the Hatlerdorf the most populous district Dornbirn, but middle of the 20th century took over the central market district that role. 1994, the new residential areas were separated in the northwest of the district of this and declared the new 6th District Shors.

Economy and infrastructure

The district has long been regarded as dominated by agriculture, and despite a relatively high number of inhabitants and associated urban development relatively large number of farms in Hatlerdorf could still hold up. During industrialization, but also large Dornbirner textile company settled on the southern outskirts of the district at ( Wallenmahd ). The hospital of the city of Dornbirn and the nursing home Lustenauerstraße are also located in the district.

Traffic

The Vorarlberg road (L 190) leads across the district. Shortly before the county line to the 1st district of this aside from the Lustenauer road (L 204). Culture and buildings

From 1860 to 1866, this neo-Romanesque church was built after the plans of the Bavarian Hofbauinspektors Eduard Riedel in Hatlerdorf. In 1977, an exterior restoration.
