Hatrix

Hatrix is an American thrash metal band from Cleveland, Ohio, which was founded in 1989.

The band was formed in 1989 by singer Jeffrey Hatrix ( Mushroomhead ), after he had left his band Purgatory. A short time later came guitarist Dave Felton, drummer Gary Estok and Bassist Kevin Skelly to the band. Drummer Estok was shortly afterwards replaced by Steve Felton, brother of guitarist Dave Felton. The band was heard first in 1990 on the compilation of Auburn Heavy Artillery Records with the song Sins of a Bastard Angel. In the same year the band went into the Mars studio to record the EP My Asylum. The recorded music was produced by Bill Korecky. It was followed by some live performances, as well as the accession of guitarist Marko Vukcevich. Another EP was released in 1993 and was named Collisioncoursewithnoplace. In the same year both EPs were combined into an album that was released under two different names Hatrix and revolution. Thus, the band reached a contract with the German label Massacre Records. The band took the songs of the EP Collisioncoursewithnoplace new to EP. The song My Asylum was also included new, as well as six new songs. The songs were released on the album Collisioncoursewithnoplace in 1994. After the album was released, the EP Anotherbadmemory appeared. On the EP five demo recordings were included that were not included either on the album, still on the EP Collisioncoursewithnoplace EP. Shortly after the band separated by Massacre Records. This was followed by some live performances. Also, some songs formed the band Mushroomhead. In 1996 the band recorded the song on Intimidation, which was included on the compilation Industry Compilation, as well as another song called Freedom, which was heard on the compilation Mushroomhead Inc. in 1998. Over the next seven years, paused the tape project until they played some more gigs in 2005.

Style

The band plays an aggressive form of thrash metal, with the emphasis on the play of the electric guitar, which in turn is technically very demanding.
