Hatu-Builico

Hatu - Builico ( Hatu Builico, Hato Builico, Hato Builico, Hatobuilico, Hatubulica ) is the capital of the subdistrict Hatu - Builico in the East Timorese district Ainaro.

The place

The place Hatu - Builico is in the northwest of the sub-district, in the Suco Nuno Mogue, near the river Telemau. With 2155 meters above sea Hatu - Builico is the highest and therefore also average the coldest place in the country. 91 % of households cultivate maize, 78 % coffee, 74 % vegetables, 62 % cassava, 20 % and 2% coconut rice.

History

The region was the area of ​​operations Falintil who fought against the Indonesian invaders.

On August 20, 1982 Falintil fighters attacked the Koramil in Dare and Koramil and police in Hatu - Builico. This was part of the Cabalaki uprising in which several Indonesian bases were attacked simultaneously in the region. The Indonesians immediately sent more troops to the region.
