Haukeli

Haukeli is a place in the Norwegian municipality of Vinje in Telemark and a traffic junction, where the Riksvei 9 and the E134, the so-called Haukelivegen meet. Previously, the place was also called Haukeligrend, but since 1999, the place is called again as originally Haukeli.

Twelve kilometers west of Haukeli is the mountainous region Haukelifjell in winter a ski resort with Haukeliseter as its capital. Also in the area of Haukeli there since 1957 and since 1979 the Haukeli Kraftverk Kraftverk the Kjela, both using the water power as an energy source.
