Geography

There are the districts Großmuß, Hausen and Herrnwahlthann.

History

Hausen first documented 863-885. The settlement tanna monachorum, today Herrnwahlthann, was created in the 9th century. Hausen belonged to Rentamt Straubing and Kelheim district court of the Electorate of Bavaria. The Barons of Kreittmayr had an open Hofmark here. In the course of administrative reform in the Kingdom of Bavaria was born with the congregation of 1818 the church camp. 1978 arose in the course of municipal reform, the present Grand Hausen through merger with the communities Großmuß and Herrnwahlthann ( renamed in 1900 from Thann ).

On April 19, 1809, the Battle of Teugn -Hausen between Austrian and French troops took place on the heights north of the town during the 5th Coalition War Napoleon.

Incorporations

On 1 January 1978, the formerly independent communities Großmuß and Herrnwahlthann were incorporated.

Population Development

On the territory of the commune were 1961 1.484, 1970 1.582, 1987, 1720 and 2000 counted 1,966 residents a year. In 2011, there were 2,040 inhabitants.

Policy

Mayor Alfons Haumer jun. (CDU ). In 2002 he became the successor of Maximilian Schober (CSU ).

The municipal tax revenue amounted to the equivalent of € 682 thousand in 1999, which amounted to the trade tax revenues ( net) converted 106 T €.
