HÃ¥vard Klemetsen

Håvard Klementsen ( born January 5, 1979 in Kautokeino ) is a Norwegian nordic combined.

Career

Håvard Klementsen, who competes for Kautokeino IL, operates since 1986 Nordic skiing. His international debut came in December 2001 in B- World Cup. On 1 January 2003 he was in a sprint race in Oberstdorf, where he graduated as 33, made his debut in the World Cup Nordic Combined. A few days later he won his first World Cup points as 23rd in Chaux-Neuve. Despite this success, he still remained part of the B- squad in B- World Cup. From the season 2003/ 04 he finally was fixed to the A-team and launched exclusively in the World Cup.

Already on the second competition, Klementsen found in almost all the World Cups in the top 20 in February 2004, he was also the first time used in a World Cup team and achieved with the team to fifth place in Oberstdorf. In January 2005 Klementsen succeeded in Schonach with seventh place in the Individual Gundersen first time a top 10 result. Also in Seefeld in Tirol, Liberec, he landed in the top ten and then started at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2005 in Oberstdorf. After he landed in individual on a streaky 20th place, he won together with Petter Tande, Magnus Moan and Kristian Hammer the world title in the team competition.

In the Norwegian championship in 2005 in Lillehammer Klementsen gold in the singles and won bronze in the sprint. In the World Cup he was able to establish himself in the episode just hard to top in the world. While scoring points were the norm, podium or even victory failed to materialize, however. At the Olympic Winter Games 2006 in Turin came Klementsen on rank 20 in singles and ranked 40th in the sprint not get out.

In the Summer Grand Prix 2006, he won the team competition in Berchtesgaden his first A-class competition. For the season 2006/ 07 he succeeded in Lago di Tesero mass start race with just under a fourth place behind the podium and his best result until then. Only a day later he was with the team for the first time during a winter competition on the podium. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2007 in Sapporo he missed with the team defending the world title and won only bronze in the team competition. In the sprint, he ended up ranked 19th in individual ranked 16 A short time later, he won at the Norwegian Championships in 2007 in Molde silver in the mass start.

Due streaky results in a row in the World Cup came Klementsen in December 2007 for two races in Høydalsmo back to the B- World Cup squad. After two good results, including third place in the sprint, however, he came back to the World Cup in January 2008. In Klingenthal he missed on 20 January in fourth again only just his first podium finish.

In January 2009 Klementsen started at the two Continental Cup race in Wisła and winning this much. Only five days later in Lahti he reached seventh place again ranked among the top ten. It remained, however, in the following months, the only top 10 place. In January 2010 Klementsen again managed a Continental Cup victory in Otepaeae. In March, he scored twice in Høydalsmo.

With the 2010/11 season succeeded Klementsen first time to hold over the entire season in the world rankings. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo, he won the bronze medal with the team in the team competitions on the large hill, and on the normal hill. An individual medal he just missed out in fourth place in the individual of the large hill. After he finished his last two World Cups of the season in the top ten, he finished second in the overall standings at the end of the 14th Place. Previously, he had again won at the Norwegian Championships 2011 in Oslo silver in singles.

For the Nordic Combined World Cup 2011/12 Klementsen further increased. Thus he succeeded in Lillehammer on December 3, 2011 his first single World Cup victory. Although he scored no more podium ranks until the end of the season, he finished at the end of the 10th rank of the overall World Cup standings. In January 2013 Klementsen again managed a team success with victory in the team competition on the normal hill in Schonach.

In the Nordic World Ski Championships 2013 in Val di Fiemme, he won the team competition on the normal hill together with Jørgen Grabak, Magnus Krog and Magnus Moan silver behind France and ahead of Austria. In the two individual competitions he achieved positions five and nine.

In the Norwegian Championships 2013 in Rena, he won his second Norwegian title. In the Penalty Race he won against Mikko Kokslien and Ole Martin Storlien. In individual he won the silver medal behind Magnus Krog.

In the Summer Grand Prix 2013 Klementsen managed a summer single victory in Villach for the first time. In the 2013/14 season he started with a good seventh place in Kuusamo.
