Hayle Ibrahimov

Hayle İbrahimov (birth name Haile Desta Hagos, born 18 January 1990) is an Azerbaijani origin Ethiopian long-distance runner.

In February 2009, he received the Azerbaijani nationality. In the same year he exhibited with 7:51,68 min on a national record over 3000m and won at the Junior European Championships gold in the 5000m and 10,000 m.

The following year, he failed in the World Indoor Championships in Doha despite a national indoor record in the flow above 3000 m. At the European Championships in Barcelona he won the lead in the 5000m with a national record and took bronze in the finals with the first track and field medal for Azerbaijan in major international championships.

2011 won İbrahimov over 3000 m in 7:53,32 min, the silver medal at the European Indoor Championships in Paris behind Mo Farah. At the European Championships 2012 in Helsinki İbrahimov finished sixth.

In March 2013 he won the gold medal in the 3000 -meter run at the Indoor Athletics Championships 2013 in Gothenburg, Sweden.
