Hayyim Selig Slonimski

Hayyim Selig Slonimsky ( born March 31, 1810 in Bialystok, † May 15, 1904 in Warsaw) was a Polish Hebrew scientific writer and journalist.

His works dealt, inter alia, to with mathematics, astronomy and calendar beings. He invented a calculating machine in 1844 and received the Demidov Prize of the St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences. Slonimsky founded in 1862, the Hebrew newspaper ha - Zefira ( Dawn).
