HC Chrudim

The HC Chrudim was a Czech ice hockey club from Chrudim, which was founded in 1931 and between 2008 and 2011 in the Czech second league, the first league played. Its home games wearing the club from the 1272 -seater stadium Zimni Chrudim, which was inaugurated in 1975.

History

1931 Hockey Department of AFK Chrudim was founded, who took part in the following years in the regional game mode ( today krajský přebor ). In the late 1950s the Department of hockey now renamed Sokol Transportation Association was dissolved. Only in 1974, the Executive Board of the TJ Transporta Chrudim resumption of gaming operations and the construction of an ice rink. The road was opened a year later.

Until the early 1990s, the club played on a regional level, but then managed to move up to the third class II NHL. But 1993 was followed by the descent into regional play operation. Only in 2001 was the promotion to the 2nd league in which the club established itself in the following years. With the championship game this third class of 2008 reached the summit in the first league.

As a result, there was a partnership with the HC Pardubice of the Extraliga, so that especially young players of both teams were given the opportunity, in each case in the other league match practice to attain. 2011, the schedule of the HC Chrudim has been set and the club disbanded due to lack of funding. As a result, a new club was founded with the same name, but operates only amateur and junior hockey.
