HC Davos

The HC Davos is a Swiss ice hockey club from Davos. The HCD is record champion with 30 titles. Their home ground is the Vaillant Arena, an architecturally exceptional wood construction. Since 1996 Arno Del Curto is coach of HC Davos.

History

The beginnings

1918 saw the establishment of the first hockey club Davos by Dr. Kurt Wuest as a student and guest club. The actual Hockey Club Davos was founded in 1921 by Dr. P. Müller - a year later, the club first took part in the Swiss Championship. Through the implementation of the first tournament for the Spengler Cup, which was founded by Dr. Carl Spengler, 1923 the foundation stone for one of the most important club tournament was laid. 1926 won the HC Davos for the first time the Swiss Championship.

1948 HC Davos won the 20th Swiss Cup, the Davos Ice Stadium has been upgraded and got the first one -meter bands, which were also used at the Olympics in St. Moritz. 1950 won the HC again the Swiss Championship and one of the stars of that time, Bibi Torriani, ended his career. The 50s, 60s and 70s
