Ischstal Izhevsk (Russian Ижсталь Ижевск ) is an ice hockey club established in 1959 the Russian city of Izhevsk. The team plays in the second-rate Wysschaja Hockey League.

History

The club was founded in 1959. By 1975 Ischstal played in the Soviet unterklassigen leagues. In the season 1974/75 promotion to the second-class league in which the team spent a total of eleven seasons and three times in 1975, 1979 and 1981 won the championship. In the elite class of the USSR Ischstal has competed seven times and finished in the seasons 1981/82 and 1984/85 as the best placement on the 9th Place.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the team was able to for financial reasons two seasons 1993/94 and 1994/ 95 does not participate in the game mode. From the 1995/96 season the club played for 15 years continuously in the sub-prime Wysschaja league. In 2010 he was included in its successor league Wysschaja Hockey League.
