HC Lipovci

The Hockey Club Lipovci is an association founded in 1965 Slovenian Hockey Club from 1000 Einwohnerort Lipovci in the Prekmurje region, which today represents four of the six Slovenian hockey clubs. The first steps in the field hockey have been made in Lipovci 1961. First they played for the club Partizan from Beltinci. The team consisted of players from around the community Beltinci, but later dominated Lipovci players from the team. As 1964 Partizan Beltinci withdrew the team from the competition, a private club founded in Lipovci. The first league game was conducted in April 1965 in Murska Sobota. Until 1991 the club played without ever being champion at the highest level in Yugoslavia. Only at junior level U-18, the club won three Yugoslav championships.

In 1992, the construction of the first artificial turf in Slovenia began, which was completed on 14 August 1993. In 1997, the playing very violet Lek Lipovec first participated in a European competition. At the tournament in Sweden, the club lost all games. In the second part at least 1999, the Portuguese representative Grupo Desportivo do Viso could be beaten in Vienna. HK Lipovci is the most successful hockey club in Slovenia with many championships and cup victories, in recent years the club has also established itself in the central European level. The greatest successes doing the victories since in the Euro Hockey Club Champions Challenge 2004 and 2006.

The club from 1994 to 2005 under the name HC Lek Lipovci and from 2005 to 2010 known as HC Pliva Lipovci. both Lek and Pliva, were sponsors of the club.
