HC Salamat

Salamat was a Finnish professional ice hockey club based in Kirkkonummi, which was founded in 2002 and played between 2003 and 2008 in the Mestis. In August 2009, the club was disbanded due to insolvency. Their home games graduated from the team in the Varuboden Areena.
History
The club was initially based in Espoo and was as EPS ( Espoon Palloseura ) known. EPS participated in the Suomi- sarja, the third Finnish league in hockey, sometimes. 2001 EPS was sold and relocated to Kirkkonummi. The name was changed in Salamat.
New owners of the team were a local multi-purpose halls - operating company, the team manager Markku Kulmala and the NHL player Teemu Selanne. 2006 sold his shares Selanne.
2003, the club was relegated to the championship title of the Suomi- Sarja on the Mestis, participated in the Salamat until 2008. After the relegation followed in the Suomi- Sarja, before the club was disbanded in August 2009 due to insolvency.
