HC Slavia Sofia

The HK Slawia Sofia is the ice hockey department of the sports club Slawia Bulgarian Sofia from Sofia, which belongs to the Bulgarian Hockey League. The venue of the HK Slawia Sofia is the Slawia ice rink.

History

The club was founded in 1919 under the name NFD Slawija Sofia. After the club from 1949 to 1951 ran as DSO Strojitel Sofia, and then six years as HK udarnik Sofia, he has been called since 1957 through HK Slawia Sofia. With 20 championships won Slawia Sofia is a Bulgarian record holder. Furthermore, the team eleven times and won runner-up was twelve times the national cup competition. Last Slawia won in 2008 and 2009 respectively, the double of league and cup win, with one prevailed in the championship respectively against CSKA Sofia HK. As a Bulgarian representatives Slawia participated in several part of the IIHF Continental Cup, where it never came on the second round also.
