He County

The circle He ( Chinese:和 县; pinyin: Hé Xiàn ) belongs to the administrative area of the prefecture-level city of Ma'anshan in Anhui province. In 1999, he counted 642 036 inhabitants.

The site of Homo erectus discovery of Hexian ( Hexian Yuanren Yizhi和 县 猿人 遗址) - the Longtandong Cave - Open since 1988 on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China ( 3-184 ). This Fund is a fairly completely preserved skull roof ( archive number PA 830 ) to fragments of a mandible and a few teeth that have been 1980/81 recovered. These fossils were initially dated to 1984 280000-240000 years, in 1987 to just 190000-150000 years and 1998 to 412,000 ± 25,000 years.

These fossils are preserved in the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing.
