He Guoqiang

He Guoqiang (Chinese贺国强, Pinyin Hè Guóqiǎng; * October 1943 in Xiang Xiang, Hunan Province) is a Chinese communist politician. He was head of the Organization Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC ) and from October 2007 to November 2012 Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau and secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the Central Committee (CC ).

Study and career

He graduated from 1961 to 1966 a study of inorganic chemistry at the Institute of Chemical Engineering in Beijing. In January 1966, he joined the CCP. After the completion of studies and graduation in chemical engineering, he was from September 1966 for a short time at the Institute of Chemical Engineering, before 1967 to 1978 as a technician, director and party secretary of the laboratory for artificial production at a fertilizer plant in Shandong Province. He was then to 1980 and Deputy Director Deputy Chief Engineer of the fertilizer factory.

From 1980 to 1982 he served as Director of the Control Department of the Office for Chemical and Petroleum Industry of the provincial government of Shandong. Subsequently, he was Deputy Director General and Director General from 1984 to 1986 this office.

Since the 16th National Congress of the CCP in 2002, he was Head of the Department of Organization and a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee. At the same time he was elected member of the Politburo of the Central Committee. Thus He was a member of the extended management circle of the CCP. In addition, he was elected as a member of the Central Committee of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission at the 17th Congress of the CPC in 2007. In these roles, he took over from his predecessor Wu Guanzheng. He thus belonged to the inner circle leadership of the CCP. In November 2012, he retired at the 18th Congress of the CPC for reasons of age from all functions.
