Headshunt

As Ausziehgleis is referred to in stations a mostly parallel to a main track misplaced railway siding, which is needed for maneuvering. A Ausziehgleis is advantageous because it enables the maneuvering regardless of the trains. In stations without Ausziehgleis has a shunting for distributing the cars in several station tracks or even just for converting to another track usually take off on the main track, the shunting blocked the other train traffic.

As Ausziehgleis also referred to a railway siding at the end of a railway line. Here it is the continuation of the main line and is used for converting the vehicles.
