Healing the blind near Jericho

Bartimaeus was mentioned in the New Testament blind beggar of Jericho, Jesus Christ healed because of his faith (Mark 10:46-52 EU).

In the Gospel according to Luke 18.35 EU is reported from the same incident, and it is also only a blind man 's speech; in the Gospel according to Matthew 20.30 EU, however, two blind men are mentioned. The name of Bartimaeus is called only in the Gospel of Mark.

The name in Aramaic means " son of Timaeus ".

The Bartimaeus story is one of six Bible stories healing of the blind and one of the most popular children's Bible stories. After Bartimaeus some kindergartens and community centers have been named in the Evangelical Church.

Theologically, the healing of the blind one is secondary. It is rather a question of the particular faith of Bartimaeus, Jesus as " Son of David " is triggered and confesses as the Messiah.
