Heauton Timorumenos

Heautontimoroumenos, Greek Ἑαυτὸν τιμωρούμενος, literally self- avenger as someone who punishes himself (from the Greek τιμωρέω, revenge, help, punish ); also Selbstquäler or self executioner is the title of a non- traditional theater play of Menander from the 4th century BC, and a poem by Charles Baudelaire from the Flowers of Evil ( 1857-1868 ).

Get the Heautontimorumenos the Roman playwright Terence, which was premiered in 163 BC. This applies as an adaptation of the Greek prototype and as the origin of the winged word: ". Homo sum, humani nil me alienum puto (v. 77 )" ( "I am a man, nothing human is alien to me. " )
